Day 1
Our tour begins in the capital Tehran. After arriving at the Imam Khomeini International Airport and being transferred to the hotel, we get some rest. We then visit Sa’ad Abad Palace Complex late in the morning. Then we head to Tehran’s northern mountainous area Darband for some light trekking, enjoying the natural scenery and breathing in fresh air.
Day 2
Totli Tamak
We leave the hotel early in the morning to start experiencing the local life. We want to get a taste of traditional houses around Iran. Totli Tamak (580 km) is our first stop. Before arriving there, we make a stop at one of the restaurants on Firouzkouh road for breakfast. We eat lunch in Behshahr before arriving in Totli Tamak village to be hosted by the Turkmen people.
Day 3
Totli Tamak
We are going to visit one of most eye-catching landscapes in Iran. So we visit the tomb of Khaled-e Nabi (75 km) enjoying the magnificent nature and return to our local lodging early at night.
Day 4
We visit Gonbad-e Qabus Tower which is an outstanding innovative example of the Islamic architecture. The monument is visible from great distances in the surrounding lowlands. We then head to Bastam (215 km) and arrive at hotel in the evening.
Day 5
Before leaving for the desert village of Jandaq (340 km), we visit the tomb of Bayazid Bastami, who played a major role in the evolution of Sufism. Then we go to Jandaq, passing through one of the most beautiful desert roads in Iran.
Day 6
It is time to discover more about Iran’s deserts by going to Mesr village and enjoying local food right in the middle of the desert.
Day 7
We leave our local hosts after breakfast and continue our way to Yazd, the center of the Zoroastrian culture in Iran (300 km). On our way, we get familiar with traditional Persian architectural elements in Meybod. We arrive at the hotel in Yazd at night.
Day 8
This is our only day in the city of mud-brick homes. To take the most out of it we visit Yazd’s Jameh Mosque with its magnificent tiled entrance, and then enjoy walking in one of oldest towns on earth, feeling the rich history of Yazd’s old city. After lunchtime we head to Dolat Abad Garden which hosts Iran’s loftiest wind-catcher, with a heigh of over 33 meters. We finish the day by going to the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, a stunning three-story façade.
Day 9
We are going to visit and spend the night in Abarkuh city (155 km). The city is home to the oldest cypress tree in Iran, aging over four millennia.
Day 10
We leave the house after breakfast to continue our way to one of the most charming cities of Iran, Shiraz (290 km). Before getting to Shiraz we visit Pasargadae, the remnants of the first Persian Garden and the tomb of the most popular king of ancient Persia, Cyrus the Great. Then after lunch, we g to Persepolis which is home to monumental ruins of the ancient civilization of Persia with a total area of 125,000 square meters.
Day 11
Our only day in Shiraz starts with a visit to Karim Khan Citadel right in the center of the city. We then explore Vakil Historical Complex including the traditional bath, bazaar and mosque. After enjoying our lunch in the heart of city, we go to Narenjestan-e Qavam Garden and Nasir al-Mulk Mosque. With its mystic atmosphere at night, the Hafez tomb will become one of the everlasting scenes from Iran in our minds.
Day 12
We leave Shiraz after breakfast to continue our way to one of the most beautiful cities of Iran, Isfahan (480 km). After having lunch on the way, we arrive in Isfahan in the afternoon while having enough time to spend the evening visiting two of the city’s historical bridges, Si-o-se-pol and Khajou Bridge.
Day 13
We are going to spend two unforgettable days in Isfahan. First we go to the world-famous Naqsh-e Jahan Square with four highlighted sites located around it: Imam Mosque, Sheikh Lotfullah Mosque, Ali Qapu and the Traditional Bazaar. After enjoying our lunchtime near one of the world’s largest squares, we head to Hasht Behesht and Chehel Sotun Palace.
Day 14
Before leaving for Kashan (215 km), there is enough time to keep on visiting Isfahan by going to Vank Cathedral and Menar Joban (the minaret that moves). We leave for Kashan where our hosts are expecting us to join them for dinner.
Day 15
We visit the ancient mysterious underground city of Nushabad and then go to Abyaneh Village (85 km). While in the village, we have the chance to get familiar with history, architecture and anthropology of the area.
Day 16
We leave Kashan to head to the capital Tehran (450 km) in the afternoon. Before that, there is still enough time to keep on visiting Kashan by going to some of its historical houses. Heading to Tehran after lunchtime, we get to our hotel at night.
Day 17
It’s the last day of our tour. To learn more about the history of Iran’s capital, we are visit some highlights such as Golestan Palace Complex, Iran National Museum and National Jewelry Museum. We will enjoy our farewell dinner in Iran at a traditional restaurant.
Day 18
Leaving Iran
And finally it’s time to bid farewell to Iran as we are transferred to the airport early in the morning for our return flight home.
