Wandering the labyrinth of bazaar alleyways and watching bustling markets make for an unforgettable travel experience. From south to north, in this tour you are going to visit Iran’s most important and magnificent bazaars.

Today’s Shopping Therapy has its roots in trading journeys through history. You are invited to visit the most significant trading centers on the historic Silk Road. These bazaars are among the best examples of traditional commercial centers in the world.

You will also visit many caravanserais, gardens and palaces, as well as six UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Iran. Highlights include:

Day 1
Our trip begins in Tehran. After arriving at the Imam Khomeini International Airport and being transferred to the hotel, we get some rest. We then visit Sa’ad Abaad Palace Complex late in the morning. Then we head to Tehran’s northern mountainous area Darband for some light trekking and enjoying the natural scenery as well as breathing in fresh air.
Day 2
In the morning, we leave hotel for the airport to go to the southern harbor of Iran, Bandar Abbas (1 h 30 min) and from there we go to Lar city (240 km) to prepare for our journey aimed at discovering the history of traditional bazaars through understanding the commercial and cultural aspects of trading in Iran.
Day 3
Lar is home to one of the oldest bazaars in Iran. Qeisarieh Bazaar with its cross-shaped architecture has been renovated throughout different eras. Then we head to Ejdeha Peykar Castle (the Dragon Castle) to visit another remnant of the ancient city of Lar. After lunchtime, we go to Evaz city, visiting its historical cisterns and then return to our hotel.
Day 4
We leave hotel after breakfast to continue our way to one of the most charming cities of Iran, Shiraz (350 km). On our way, we pay a short visit to Jahrom historical bazaar. We arrive in Shiraz in the evening.
Day 5
Our day in Shiraz starts with visiting Karim Khan Citadel right in the center of the city. Then we go to Vakil historical complex with its bath, bazaar and mosque. Enjoying our lunch time in the heart of the city, we then go to Narenjestan-e Qavam garden and Nasir al-Mulk Mosque. With its mystic atmosphere at night, the Hafez tomb will become one of the everlasting scenes from Iran in our minds.
Day 6
We leave hotel in the morning to get on the track to Isfahan, one of the most beautiful cities of Iran. However, on the way there is still a lot to visit. Our first stop is at Persepolis (60 km from Shiraz). A glorious historical monument from the ancient civilization of Persia with a total area of 125,000 square meters. Then we eat lunch and head to Pasargadae, the remnants of the first Persian Garden and the tomb of the most popular king of ancient Persia, Cyrus the Great.
Day 7
We are going to spend an unforgettable day in Isfahan. Our first destination in the city is Naqsh-e Jahan Square with four highlighted sites located around it: Imam Mosque, Sheikh Lotfullah Mosque, Ali Qapu and the Traditional Bazaar. After enjoying our lunchtime near one of the world’s largest squares we head to Hasht Behesht and Chehel Sotun Palace.
Day 8
We leave the hotel to head to Arak to visit the next amazing bazaar in Iran (340 km) in the afternoon. Before that still there is enough time to keep on visiting Isfahan by going to Vank Cathedral, Si-o-se-pol (a historical bridge) and Jameh Mosque of Isfahan, which is a stunning example of the evolution of mosque architecture over twelve centuries. We leave Isfahan for Arak after lunchtime and get to Arak in the evening.
Day 9
Our day in Arak obviously begins with its famous traditional bazaar, an outstanding market in its kind in terms of architecture and design. Afterwards we have plans to visit other city highlights such as Chaharfasl Historical Bath, and Sepahdar Mosque and School.
Day 10
We leave Arak for Zanjan (425 km) through a beautiful road and on the way we will visit the world’s largest brick dome of its time, the Dome of Soltaniyeh and then continue to Zanjan after having lunch. We arrive at the hotel by the evening.
Day 11
It is time to visit a significant symbol and an important archeological site in Iran: Takht-e Soleymān. The site boasts a right mix of architecture and nature. It has been home to many Zoroastrian temples through different historical periods. After lunchtime, we return to Zanjan (285 km).
Day 12
Before leaving Zanjan, we visit the city’s Grand Bazaar as well as the Salt Men Museum which opens windows to mysteries from Iranian ancestors in the Sassanid era through its naturally conserved prehistoric salt miners. We leave for Tabriz early in the afternoon to get to the hotel by the night (300 km).
Day 13
We spend the last days of the tour in Tabriz to visit some of the city’s highlights as well as Tabriz historic bazaar complex which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bazaar is located along one of the busiest east-west trade routes. It consists of a series of enclosed spaces for a variety of commercial and trade-related activities, social gatherings, and educational and religious practices. We continue our journey through history by visiting the Constitution House, Azerbaijan Museum, Iron-age Archeological Museum and the Blue Mosque. We then enjoy a short walk in El Goli Park, keeping pace with people strolling around its popular artificial lake before returning to the hotel.
Day 14
Our flight to Tehran departs in the evening, which leaves us enough time to visit the wonderful Kandovan Village (55 km). Kandovan is a still-inhabited cliff village with manmade dwellings excavated inside volcanic rocks. Then we go to Tabriz airport in order not to miss our flight to Tehran (1 h 10 min).
Day 15
It’s the last day of our tour. To learn about the history of Iran’s capital, we visit some highlights such as Golestan Palace Complex, Iran National Museum and National Jewelry Museum which are all located near Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. We will enjoy our farewell dinner in Iran at a traditional restaurant.
Day 16
Leaving Iran
And finally it’s time to bid farewell to Iran as we are transferred to the airport early in the morning for our return flight home.
